The Owner of the Washington Capitals Wants Fugazi to Reunite and Play His Arena
Billionaire Ted Leonsis is an entrepreneur who formerly worked as a senior executive at AOL and currently owns both the Washington Capitals and the Washington Wizards. He's also, apparently, a big fan of $5 shows and angular post-hardcore, because he's trying to get Fugazi to reunite.
Leonsis shared an article from Washington City Paper that traced the lineage of Fugazi, adding that he would love to see the band reunite to play in his arena. Leonsis added that he would like to compensate the band and make donations to local charities in their name.
Considering the vast array of snack options in a big arena, the potential Fugazi reunion show might even include an ice cream-eating motherfucker.
Read Leonsis' tweet about bringing Fugazi into the Capital One Arena below.
Let us all work to get Fugazi to reunite, play at our Arena, we will compensate the band, and make a major donation to local charities in their names, it has been too long. They resonate well with all generations, we miss them. Check this out. https://t.co/c7HcqHWY4l— Ted Leonsis (@TedLeonsis) May 13, 2019
