Car Seat Headrest Ready New Album 'Making a Door Less Open'
Car Seat Headrest are returning with a new album. Titled Making a Door Less Open, the latest from Will Toledo and co. is set to arrive May 1 through Matador.

Ten tracks in length, Making a Door Less Open was created over four years through a "collaboration" between Car Seat Headrest and 1 Trait Danger, a side-project consisting of drummer Andrew Katz and Toledo's alternative persona, "Trait."

The collab saw Car Seat Headrest record the album twice: once as a live band with guitars, drums and bass, and once in a MIDI environment with only synthesized sounds. The two approaches were gradually combined during the album's mixing phase.

Car Set Headrest have shared "Can't Cool Me Down" alongside the album announcement, which you can hear below. Toledo elaborates on the creative process further, as Trait, in a statement which you can read here

Making a Door Less Open marks the first set of original songs from Car Seat Headrest since 2016's Teens of Denial.

Car Seat Headrest have also announced a North American tour behind the record, featuring support from Twin Peaks. They'll play two shows in Toronto and two more in Vancouver. Find the itinerary below.

Car Seat Headrest's most recent studio effort was 2018's Twin Fantasy, a rerecording of a 2011 album of the same name. The band also released live album Commit Yourself Completely last year.
