Ed Solomon Responds to Claims That 'Bill & Ted Face the Music' Will Be a "Woke Piece of Trash"
One Twitter user is upset about the inclusion of two female cast members

Ed Solomon, co-writer of the Bill & Ted sequel film, has responded to a complaint that the new film is too "woke" for having included two female characters in the cast.The new film, Bill & Ted Face the Music, sees the return of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter as the titular characters, alongside new cast members, Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine, who play Bill and Ted's daughters — a choice that has apparently offended one Twitter user who thinks their inclusion fulfills "an agenda."
"We all know Bill and Ted Face the Music will be a woke piece of trash," the user wrote, to which Solomon responded, asking what about the new film panders to the "woke" agenda. The user responded, "The two girls you cast."
Trying his best to defend the casting choice, Solomon stated that the two women were cast "WAY before it was socially a thing." Whatever that means.

As previously reported, Dean Parisot is returning to direct. The film is scheduled — pandemic pending — to hit theatres on August 21.
