Published May 31, 2019Lots of artists have taken a stance against phones at concerts, and that now includes Judas Priest. At a recent show, frontman Rob Halford kicked a phone out of a fan's hand, and the whole incident was caught on camera.
Footage shows the band performing "Judas Rising" while a couple of fans in the front row filmed the show. Then, in the middle of the song, Halford aims a very accurate kick and one of the phones goes flying. The incident happened in Rosemont, IL, on May 25.
Watch the footage below, and be thankful that Halford's boot didn't make contact with anyone's face (like that time Josh Homme kicked a photographer).
In a statement to Loudwire, Halford said this about the phone-kicking incident:
The facts are we love our fans and you can film us all you like and watch our show on your phone rather than in the flesh. However if you physically interfere with the metal god's performance you now know what will happen.
But hey, at least the fan with the phone didn't get on stage and try to take a selfie, like that one guy did at a Converge show.
Judas Priest are in the midst of a North American tour with plenty of Canadian dates. If you go, be careful about filming the show from the front row.
