Lana Del Rey Reacts to Mass Shootings on New Song 'Looking for America'
Lana Del Rey has unveiled a new song called "Looking for America," which arrives in response to two mass shootings in the United States over the weekend.
The track was written after a total of 31 people were gunned down in El Paso, TX, and Dayton, OH, in two separate mass shooting events on August 3 and 4, respectively.
Del Rey shared video footage of herself performing the song with producer Jack Antonoff in a studio.
"Now I know I'm not a politician and I'm not trying to be so excuse me for having an opinion," she wrote in an Instagram post caption. "But in light of all of the mass shootings and the back to back shootings in the last couple of days which really affected me on a cellular level I just wanted to post this video that our engineer Laura took 20 minutes ago."

The track comes after Del Rey detailed her forthcoming album Norman Fucking Rockwell!, which is expected out on August 30.
