Published Dec 09, 2019After the passing of Chicago rapper Juice WRLD early yesterday (December 8), it has been discovered that the artist was allegedly taking unknown pills leading up to his death.
The news comes via TMZ, which reports the 21-year-old rapper had taken "several unknown pills" prior to suffering seizures. The publication also reports police found 70 pounds of cannabis in suitcases, as well as a bottle of codeine cough syrup onboard the private jet Juice WRLD boarded before died.
Juice WRLD's associates have also told investigators that the rapper had a problem with Percocet.
So far the artist's official cause of death has not been revealed, but the results of an autopsy are expected to revealed soon.
UPDATE (12/09, 7:20 p.m. EST): The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has now revealed the results of Juice WRLD's autopsy, ruling the findings were inconclusive. As the New York Times reports, the rapper suffered the fatal seizures when police boarded his plane at Chicago Midway International Airport to search for narcotics at around 1 a.m. local time. Authorities confirmed media reports that roughly 70 pounds of marijuana, six bottles of codeine cough syrup and three firearms were discovered.
After being treated with Narcan — typically used to combat opioid overdoses — Juice WRLD was then taken to a hospital, where he died shortly after 3 a.m.
According to witnesses, Juice WRLD reportedly suffered a seizure while walking through the airport yesterday. He was still conscious when he was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
