Published Feb 05, 2020Every B-movie nerd knows the "best worst movie" out there is Troll 2, and now we're getting a sequel. Well, kind of.
A new horror film called Trolls World is heading our way, and while it's not a direct follow-up to the masterpiece of trash that is Troll 2, it is a spiritual successor of sorts. And hell, it even feature "You don't piss on hospitality" himself, George Hardy.
Trolls World is being directed by Eric Dean Hordes, and via Rue Morgue, you can watch the film's newly revealed trailer below.
Trolls World is actually a German production and was released in Europe under the title Goblin: Das Ist Echt Troll. However, the film was shot in English, and it's set to play at this month's European Film Market in Berlin.
An official synopsis reads as follows: "Packed with special effects and multi-dimensions, Trolls World follows an evil troll who is accidentally brought back to life and is out for revenge for his 700 years of suffering. He possesses the body of a young woman and sets his sights on unleashing an army of trolls to take over the world."
The cast includes Helmut Krauss, Katy Karrenbauer, Jirí Lábus, Désirée Nick, Cecilia Pillado, Nadir Sisman and Billie Zöckler. And yes, it does promise to feature a special appearance by Troll 2 star and IRL dentist George Hardy.
Troll 2 was originally released in 1990, and as Michael Stephenson's 2009 documentary Best Worst Movie brilliantly showcased, it has become an enduring cult classic over the years — even if it never actually featured any trolls.
At this point, it's unclear when we may get to watch Trolls World here in North America, so for now, you'll have to be satisfied with just the trailer.
